Week 29 – Summer

It is time to yet again veer away from the sequenced list and get another season checked off. Summer has finally arrived in our part of Canada and although it was raining this morning, the sun did appear this afternoon. Summer for me will always be represented by the sunny yellow fields of rapeseed. Here in Canada these fields are actually canola, which was bred from rapeseed back in the 70’s.

As a teenager I used to spend most of my summers at my Uncle and Aunt’s place in a small village in Germany and all around were the yellow rapeseed fields. It was the colour of my summers and to this day I still adore those never-ending yellow carpets. Thankfully we have plenty of these fields around where we currently live, so I get my fill of them every summer still.
