The Raven Totem

This totem is a 2010 replacement for the original Raven Totem which was carved by a member of the Haida people. It stands in Jasper, Alberta not far from the spot where the original totem used to stand. The original, which was weathered and started to be a safety hazard, was given back to the Haida people after having stood in Jasper for 90 years. This splendid new replacement was also carved by the Haida people and represents some very important parts of their culture.

A beautiful shot of this amazing piece. I love that Parks Canada was able to replace the original.
