Jasper from above

This is the town of Jasper, in Jasper National Park, Alberta as seen from the top of Whistlers Mountain.

For many tourists Banff seems to epitomize the Canadian Rocky Mountains (similar as most tourists to the Lake District in the UK think that Lake Windermere is “the lakes”), but for me it is Jasper and the areas around this little town. I loved everything about it; the railway, the great little restaurants in town, the drive up to Miette Hot Springs, and the fact that it wasn’t as busy as I had anticipated. Not to mention the fact that I got to see the Icefields Parkway again, well, on the way back at least as the way up to Jasper was rather a snowy affair.
