Sunrise return

It’s been a while since I last posted, which is mainly due to considering if I should continue with my blog.

Is blogging really still relevant in this day of social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, where posts swish by, constantly vying for likes and comments? I have asked myself this question for some time and I am sure I am not the only blogger to do so. My blog is only small and has just over 320 followers, most of which don’t engage at all, and I suspect the majority of them no longer use this platform. That being said, people do still read blogs, otherwise platforms like this would no longer exist. I don’t like to bow to defeat, so have decided to continue this blog. I might change things around a bit in the next little while to freshen things up, but I do like sharing my photos and creations even if only a small number of people read the posts and engage with me (I am not going to let that defeat me!).

So, here is a beautiful sunrise my husband and I got up early to see on our recent vacation to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

  1. Great minds think alike Simone, this compliments my recent post on FB and I have let my blog slide of late. Still we must keep up the struggle. Still life is slower for us in the village of Ludd.

  2. That’s a sunrise that I would get up early to watch! As for blogging, I have not posted anything for quite some time, instead I post to Flickr and Pse and more, and occasionally FB. People are time poor these days, it’s too easy to just hit the ‘like’ button and move on, I’m guilty of that….I wish making comments on the images posted at PSE and More was more straight forward, I used to enjoy that on the old site we had when all comments were visible directly below each image. Perhaps one day the developers will be able to come up with a solution that won’t involve costs.

    • Hi Jackie, thanks for commenting. Like you, I also post to Flickr and PSE&M. My blog is connected to my FB profile, so it goes automatically onto my timeline. Your are right about people being time poor these days, I guess it is the advancement of technology. I also agree with your comment on the gallery for PSE&M, the commenting is not as intuitive as it was on the old Village, but at least we have the functionality.
